I've been fortunate as a musician. I've realized so many dreams — touring, recording, living the gypsy life style. My fifteen years with The RedHot Blues had its ups and downs but I value every minute of it because there is nothing so powerful as remembering sitting as a kid and listening to music, thinking
maybe some day...and then one day you're on I-70 in a van with your band mates, heading to a gig in Denver. Wow. Still, percolating underneath all those years was a desire that predated my guitar playing and love of the blues — a desire to write songs in the American tradition, songs about the land and the people. In that way,
Long Way Home is perhaps more meaningful and powerful than anything I've done to date. I have never felt so comfortable making a record, never enjoyed the process so much, never felt so much satisfaction upon its completion. I hope you feel that as you listen.
